What is web design?

Web Design is the process of creating presentations of content that is delivered to the user via the World Wide Web using tools such as a web browser (Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari, and Internet Explorer) or other web enabled software such as Internet television clients and RSS readers.

Web design usually related to the graphical portion of the development process. This includes creation of page layout, background and spot imagery, colour scheme, navigation buttons and typography.
